As Lord of Cork, you represent a lovely and comparatively tame region of Ireland, which is considered a centre of cultural and historic significance.

The harbour town of Cork was named a European Capital of Culture in 2005. Cork is known for its diverse cultural offerings, in particular for fine arts and Irish music, the student life and numerous trendy Irish pubs. The city was built in a swamp between two branches of the river Lee and secured in similar ways as Venice. Unfortunately, today not much is left of the many canals that once characterised Cork. A lot of today's roads once were waterways.

When touring the city, tourist guides point out the various indicators of the city's history that can be found in the local architecture. Cork is also the place where numerous emigrants started their journey into a new life after the big famine and it is also the centre of the Irish nationalists. Today, Cork is the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland and serves as both a cultural and industrial centre. But tourists need not worry because the importance of industrial activities does not disturb the visual appeal of this city. Various airlines offer non-stop flights to Cork.

Cork county has a long coast line forming the tip of the island. The Gulf Stream strongly influences the climate causing mild weather and partially subtropical vegetation including palm trees and fuchsias. Additionally, lush rhododendrons, ferns, lilies and more can be found in this area. The green island is particularly green in this area and the hills nearly qualify as mountains. Day trips are best undertaken by car or bus. So if you buy the nobility title Lord of Cork, you will find yourself among people who are passionate about culture and possibly a bit unconventional. However, they are also patriotic and proud Irishmen whose dialect is particularly interesting in this area.
